Vegetables
A more detailed walkthrough for gardens where there is more ground to cover, several growing areas to investigate, or multiple problems to work through.
We read the garden as a connected system - looking at how soil, water, plants, organic matter, weeds and the surrounding landscape interact rather than treating each problem in isolation.
During the walkthrough we can explore:
- soil condition, structure and compaction
- water movement, drainage and irrigation
- plant health and growing conditions
- weeds and other ecological indicators
- organic matter, mulch and soil-building opportunities
- existing garden beds and planting areas
- relationships between different areas of the garden
- practical priorities and next steps
This service is best suited to medium-sized residential gardens, gardens with several distinct growing areas, or situations where multiple issues need to be investigated.
What’s included:
90 minutes on site, discussion of observations as we move through the garden, time to investigate several areas in greater depth, and practical recommendations based on what can reasonably be observed during the visit.
What’s not included:
Formal soil or laboratory testing, a written Living-System Assessment, detailed landscape design, amendment prescriptions or a Redox Garden Blueprint.
If the garden requires deeper investigation, the walkthrough can help determine whether a Living-System Assessment or Redox Garden Blueprint would be worthwhile.
